BIBUS submersible pumps
BIBUS submersible pumps are pumps that are used to lift a fluid using an electrical power supply. They are very efficient and can also be used to drain a tank or a basin.
How it works
Nothing could be simpler, a turbine turns inside a casing. This sucks in the liquid through the inlet, the rotation accelerates the liquid and pushes it out radically. The liquid is then discharged through the outlet.
The parameters to be considered for a submersible pump are: the speed of rotation and the diameter of the impeller.
Because of its hydrodynamic operation, both parameters determine the head and flow rate.
To fully utilise the capacity of BIBUS submersible pumps, the pump cross-sections and the outlet must be perfectly aligned. A reduction in outlet or cross-sections reduces the pumping capacity and weakens the moving parts, as the pump has to operate against a higher pressure in the system.
Submersible pumps use the pumped liquid as a coolant. To prevent overheating, all our pumps are equipped with a dry-running protection, called a float switch.
When the water level is too low, the float switch automatically switches off the pump for safety reasons.
The latest generation of the SM series is now equipped with a chip that electronically regulates by continuously checking the level and switches the pump on or off.
