Rotary actuators

Rotary and oscillating cylinders are pneumatic rotary actuators that produce rotary motion using an axis that controls the speed and rotation of the attached equipment. Composed of a cylinder and a piston, these cylinders convert the pressure of a fluid into rotary power and instantly develop an oscillatory torque.

These actuators are suitable for industrial applications such as pieces transfer, positioning, valve control, clamping and transport. They also have the particularity of simplifying and improving applications that generally use pneumatic cylinders because they support loads, thanks to the internal bearing clearance, and they are autonomous.

CKD Rotary actuators

Rotary cylinder GRC series

The pneumatic rotary cylinder GRCseries is an actuator whose rotary motion is obtained by the action of compressed air on a piston that drives a rack. In turn, the rack drives a pinion causing the plate to rotate. The drive pinion, mounted between 2 bearings, drives the plate on which the load can be directly fixed. In addition, the GRC series rotary tables allow the direct installation of heavy loads and the realization of very precise positioning thanks to guide bearings. Compactness and high precision are also the major advantages of the GRC series. On the other hand, assembly and installation are facilitated by supply ports on one of the 3 sides as required.

Rotary cylinder RRC series

The pneumatic rotary cylinder RRC series is a rack and pinion actuator whose combined action of the 2 racks and the pinion provides stable torque even at low pressure. In addition, internal and external leaks are reduced as in a linear cylinder. This also allows the cylinder to have a longer service life.

JRT Rotary cylinders

Rotary cylinder RJC series

The rotary pneumatic cylinder series RJC (40, 63 and 80) is a double-acting oleopneumatic pneumatic cylinder, consisting of a piston with a chain seal coupled to a drive shaft. Indeed, it is a dual power actuator, thanks to the two cylinders included that generate the thrust at the same time. The integrated hydro cushion reduces shocks at the end of rotation and increases the stopping capacity of the road and its aluminium body gives it a high tensile strength. In addition, the tubular shaft provides ease of assembly and use of the air piping. It is also recommended to pay attention to the choice of the position of the fasteners on the shaft and the direction of rotation when installing them.

Rotary cylinder RTU series

The RTU series rotary pneumatic cylinder (25, 40 and 50) is a double-acting rack and pinion type actuator for a low tolerance transmission of drive power in a single rotational movement. It consists of an aluminium body for high anodised resistance, a rectangular rotating unit for rotation in both directions of the two clamps and a suction flange to facilitate connection to an application-specific adapter plate. Also equipped with an internal shock absorber, the RTU series cylinder considerably reduces shocks at the end of rotation and thus increases the stopping capacity of the road. It is recommended to use a lightweight finger such as the AF28D and it is also easy to mount when used and associated with the AF30 or AF46 series.

Rotary cylinder SDRJ series

The SDRJ series rotary pneumatic cylinder (16, 20, 25, 25, 30, 40, 50 and 63) is a rack and pinion type actuator, for a low tolerance transmission of drive power in a single rotational movement, and consists of a hole through the shaft to allow the passage of air tubes or electrical cables. In addition, its aluminium body allows it to have a high tensile strength

ECKART Rotary cylinder

Rotary cylinder PSM2 series

The PSM2 series rotary pneumatic cylinder is a cam-type rotary cylinder. The piston is set in motion by the pneumatic pressure. It moves linearly from the front stop to the rear stop (and vice versa). During its translation, the piston is simultaneously rotated by the rollers and its groove. Since the two grooves are opposite, the rotation angle is doubled with respect to the piston stroke.

  • Torque up to 130 Nm at 10 bar (78 Nm at 6 bar).
  • Rotation angle: 90, 180° or 360° (other on request)
  • Adjustable shaft position: Facilitates cylinder assembly
  • Can be used from 0.5 bar due to high quality gear machining and the use of low-friction seals

Operating pressure max. 10 bar
Thanks to the use of low-friction seals, the rotary cylinder can operate from a working pressure of about 0.5 bar.

Keyed male shaft
The standard version of the PSM2 has a keyed hollow shaft. As an option, a keyed male shaft can be inserted and fixed with a central screw. Other types of shafts can be supplied: square shaft, splined shaft, consult us.

Threading for control axes
The tapping of the through shaft allows position sensors to be mounted at the rear of the cylinder.
